Visitors who attend Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station’s Community Information Night will find answers to questions about how nuclear energy is generated, according to the owner of the plant on the Susquehanna River near Delta, Pa., just north of the Harford County border.

The free event will be held in the station’s training center Thursday, June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Station employees will be on hand to educate visitors on station operations; site maintenance; engineering practices; environmental stewardship; industrial and radiological safety; site security; and emergency preparedness.

A special presentation on the events in Japan will be provided and visitors can tour the plant’s control room simulator, which is used to train reactor operators.

Refreshments will be served and younger guests will receive special ID badges, T-shirts, balloons and prizes.

To ensure the safety of the plant and guests, Peach Bottom’s vehicle checkpoint will not be open to Community Information Night attendees. Visitors are asked to park in the station’s outer parking lot at 1848 Lay Road. A bus will transport guests to the training center.

Guests requiring special access accommodations or with questions about Community Information Night are asked to contact David Tillman, 717-456-4818 or david.tillman@exeloncorp.com.
