An Edgewood man was assaulted May 25 when two men tried to steal his wallet.
The 47-year-old was walking behind the Royal Farms in the 600 block of Edgewood Road in Edgewood between 4 and 5 p.m. when a man asked him for money, according to Sgt. Dave Betz, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
The man asked for 50 cents and the victim handed him the change. The man then said he wanted more money. A second man came from behind and hit the victim on the left side of his face with what could have been a pipe, Betz said.
The second man then kicked the victim in the stomach. After a struggle for the victim’s wallet, both attackers ran away empty-handed.
The victim was visibly injured, but did not require medical attention at the scene.
The first suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black tank top, a black hat and black jeans with some sort of writing on them.
The second suspect is described as a black man, also in his 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build; he was wearing a red hat.
