Perryville softball team shoots for Little League World Series
Cecil girls win one, lose one, in East Region play in Worcester, Mass.

The Perryville Senior Softball All-Stars are in the midst of a week-long effort to reach the Little League World Series in Roxana, Del.
Perryville, competing as the Maryland state champion, opened with a 6-0 win over Rhode Island Saturday in the East Region in Worcester, Mass. The team of 15-16-year-old girls didn’t fare as well Sunday, losing to Pennsylvania, 9-3, in the second of its four straight days of pool play games.
Perryville is scheduled to play the Massachusetts state champion — Winchendon Little League — today (Monday) at 10 a.m. Perryville concludes pool play at 9 a.m. Tuesday against a team from the host city’s Jesse Burkett Little League in Worcester, Mass.
