The Town of Bel Air and local arts groups are presenting this year’s “Bel Air Christmas Theatre” production at the Bel Air Reckord Armory.

This year’s show will be “A Hometown Christmas.” It will be a variety show format, hosted by “The Crooner and The Comic,” local Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis tribute artists Eric Richardson and Matt Macis.

A variety of local arts groups will be presenting holiday themed selections. Each participating group will have one or two appearances on stage during the show, performing Christmas/holiday oriented songs or skits. This will allow each group to showcase their talents and to promote their organizations to an audience of new patrons.

This year’s event will benefit the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission. Under the guidance of Patty Richardson, the event will culminate in five shows in early December at the Armory. The shows will have the familiar dinner theater layout as in the past with each show production two hours in length.

Coffee, tea, cocoa and drinks will be available, with desserts offered at intermission. As in years past, parents and volunteers are needed to help with this year’s event.

Adult ticket prices are $20; children’s tickets are $17. A percentage of the ticket price will go back to the group selling the tickets as a fundraising opportunity. Tickets will be available online at www. belairarmorytheatre .com, with each organization also being able to get credit for the sales on line. Tickets will also be for sale at Bel Air Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Local businesses are offering dinner and merchant discounts to theatergoers. These discounts can be used to shop and/or eat before or after a show.

The groups that are performing are: The Ryan School of Irish Dance, Maryland Conservatory of Music, Shire School of Music, Bay Country Gentleman, Theatreworks Live, County Ballet, Part Two Dance Company, and Harford Ballet.

Performances are Dec. 5 at 2 and 8 p.m., Dec. 11 and 12 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.

You can contact organizers at 1-888-810-8550 or by e-mail at info@ belairarmorytheatre .com. More information is available at www. belairarmorytheatre .com.

This organization supports local arts groups and organizes events throughout the year for the promotion of the arts in Bel Air and the surrounding area. With Bel Air’s strong commitment to supporting the local arts, this is one more example of quality “Hometown Theatre” that can be enjoyed by patrons of all ages and walks of life. This event will also draw even more attention to the Armory as a place for local groups to perform and hold events throughout the year.
