Accidents across Harford County drew Medevac assistance over the past week, including one involving a car and a man on a bicycle.

Cyclist struck in Abingdon

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday a 44-year-old man was riding his bicycle southbound on Tollgate Road in Abingdon, according to Monica Worrell, public information specialist with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

As Karen Addison, 47, of Abingdon, tried to turn left onto Autumn View Lane, her 2003 Chevy Truck collided with the cyclist, Worrell said.

The cyclist received serious injuries in the accident and was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. His name was being withheld Thursday awaiting the notification of his family.

Charges are pending against the driver, Worrell said.

Street accident

A motor vehicle accident took place on Monday evening around 5 p.m. in the area of Routes 440 and 543 in Street. A Medevac was requested.

The Maryland State Police traffic report was not available as of Thursday afternoon.

White Hall accident

A Pennsylvania man was in a car accident on his birthday and flown to shock trauma.

Around 1 p.m. on Sept. 25, Vance Keller Cresic Jr., 17, of the 2700 block of Garrett Road in White Hall, was trying to turn left from northbound Route 23 onto Old York Road, according to the Maryland State Police traffic report.

David Carl Soter, who turned 42 that day, was driving his 2008 Honda MC motorcycle northbound on Route 23 as Cresic tried to turn left in a 2009 Toyota Camry, according to the report.

Soter’s motorcycle ran into the side of Cresic’s car throwing Soter from the bike, onto the windshield and finally to the ground, according to the report.

Cresic wasn’t injured, but Soter, of the 100 block of Lindy Road in Seven Valleys, Pa., received serious injuries, according to the report.

Soter was flown to shock trauma. He was in serious but stable condition Thursday.

Darlington trauma

Around 1:21 p.m. on Sept. 25, a man was hit by a sway bar on a camper in the area of Deerfield Road in Darlington, Worrell, of the sheriff’s office, said.

Darlington Volunteer Fire Company responded and sheriff’s deputies assisted. Medevac assistance also was requested. No further information was available.
