The Aberdeen teenager who was charged as an adult after allegedly robbing a cab driver at knife-point on Feb. 18 was indicted March 17.

Gerrod Antonio Webster, 16, of the first block of East Bel Air Avenue in Aberdeen, was indicted on charges of armed robbery, robbery, theft less than $500, second-degree assault and concealing a dangerous weapon.

According to charging documents, the incident took place as follows: Webster and a group of juveniles climbed into a cab at the car wash at Parke and Custis streets in Aberdeen. Carl Vanhorn, owner and operator of Dollar Cab Company, picked up the youths in his cab.

Webster entered the vehicle with his companions. Then he allegedly choked Vanhorn from behind, put a silver-bladed knife with a black handle to Vanhorn’s head and stated, “If you don’t give me your money I will kill you.”

Vanhorn gave Webster $228 and Webster and the other juveniles then ran away. Two witnesses told police the man who had robbed the driver was named Gerrod, who has a street name of “Beans.”

According to charging documents, one of the witnesses showed police the residence of Garrod or “Beans,” which turned out to be the residence of Webster.
