Harford County Executive David Craig is lauding another successful Harford County Farm Fair.
“I always enjoy the Harford County Farm Fair, and I particularly look forward to attending the livestock sale,” Craig said in a press release Monday. “The 4-H’ers work so hard all year to prepare to show and sell their animals and the Farm Fair gives us a chance to recognize the dedication of these young farmers, their parents, and families.”
Craig’s office staffed a booth and display that provided fair-goers with information regarding a number of different county initiatives, and Craig was on hand to speak with visitors to the booth.
County Executive’s Division of Agriculture and the Ag Preservation Office also hosted displays in the barn area where farmers and the general public could speak with the county’s ag staff. Both booths promoted the county’s “Buy Local” campaign through informational brochures, giveaways, and by distributing samples of peaches and plums from four of Harford’s orchards – Lohr’s, Shaw, Wilson Mill and Wilson’s Farm Market.
“On behalf of Harford County Government, I thank the 4-H and the Harford County Farm Fair Board for organizing another great event, as well as all of those who volunteered their time and talents,” Craig said.
